Could you please give details on the type and thickness of wood used? Looks very nice, would like to give it a try.

3/4 inch Birch plywood from Home Depot. Birch iron on edge banding as well. I used a Walnut color stain to give it the period look. Fastened with Kreg pocket-hole joinery and then pluged the holes also. Thanks MtlTidBits and good luck!

Awesome turn out! This modern design looks really great- love the blending of mid-century elements. It looks great in the space.

Great work on this. Very good way to protect an old and valuable piece of equipment.

I'm new to working with wood and tools needed. I wish you had a video or pictures showing how you made this.

Sorry I don't. Always wish I had when I'm done. I cut the door length wise and used one side for the top. I used a jigsaw to get the surfboard shape. I then cut the other side in several pieces and glued them together to get longer pieces. I then used the jigsaw again to get the shape for the legs. I did have to buy a 1x6 poplar board for the middle shelf, mostly for stabilization.

This is so cool! What a creative way to make use of your solid door- so much better than letting it go to waste. This is an awesome design- the way you did the legs really ties the entire piece together!
