DIY Double Hanging Closet

This double hanging closet unit is the perfect height for hanging two rows of clothing. Two rows of shirts or shirts and a row of pants fit nicely in this unit. The unit is 23" deep which gives that elegant, custom look. This unit is meant to be installed beside another similar closet unit or wall.

Materials

  • (2) 28-1/2" Closet Rod
  • (2) 3/4"x4'x8' MDF
  • 1-1/2" Trim Screws
  • 3" Wood Screws
  • Wood Filler
  • Wood Glue

Steps

STEP 1

Cut pieces of MDF using the cut guide. Pre-drill and assemble using 1-1/2" Trim Screws.

STEP 2

Locate the wall studs using a stud finder. Then, using a level, make sure the front and sides of the unit are plumb and secure to the unit in the wall using 3" screws.
