Materials

  • 1"x10"x6' Wood
  • 1"x3"x6'
  • Hanging Hardware
  • Wood Glue
  • Wood Stain

Steps

STEP 1

Nail 18 pieces, evenly spaced apart 1"x3" to the desired wall surface.

STEP 2

Cut 1"x3" to size based on the width of the nailed pieces in the previous step.

STEP 3

Cut 1"x10" to size based on desired shelf lengths.

STEP 4

Apply stain to the shelf pieces as desired.

STEP 5

Use wood glue to attach the 1"x3" pieces to the edge of the 1"x10" pieces. The smaller piece will attach the shelf to the bookshelf backing installed in Step 1.

STEP 6

Use screws to secure the bottom piece of the shelf to the top shelf piece. Use screws to attach each shelf to the bookshelf backing on the wall.

STEP 7

Attach hardware to each shelf as desired to hold the books. Repeat the previous step to add all five shelves.

Choose books, decor, garlands and more to add to the bookshelf as desired.
