Organizing my new workshop space, starting with a French cleat wall and overhead lumber storage. This makes it easy to move things around as my shop expands over time. Next on the project list are Ryobi Nation inspired mobile tool cabinets and an assembly table.

For small tools, I found that a scrap board with long drywall screws, protected by PVC tubing (with a cleat on the back) makes great low cost hangers.

    For your lumber storage, is that screwed directly to the studs?
    I also like your wheeled scrap cart, I need to make one of those for my shop.

    • Thanks. Yeah, the top lumber rack is attached to the wall studs.  My walls are 9.5' tall and having it mounted above the cleats makes good use of wasted space.  The wood scraps / cutoffs bin works great, I've found that I'm more likely to use scrap lumber when it's so easy to find.
