Calificado 1 de 5 por de The fact I bought this new RYOBI power head because I had to with no other choices. I bought one RYOBI power head with a compatible trimmer head and a edger head two years ago. The power head power switch started to malfunction in the following year and the whole power head stopped working this year and I went to Home Depot tried to fix it and was told that the warranty was expired and to fix that probably would cost somewhere from $50 to $90 and a brand new one just around $80 and I still have the edger and trimmer so I had to choose buying a new one. This is it.

Calificado 1 de 5 por de Poor quality If you like to replace your equipment every few months, this is the weedeater for you!!!! I have made the mistake of purchasing 3 of this model and all have been the same. In October 2016, my weedeater would not crank so I took it back to Home Depot to send it off to get fixed. I couldn't do without one for the 2 to 3 weeks it would take to be returned so I purchased another one. Of course the repair was not a warranty problem. Well spring has come and the new one has broken. Sent it back and of course it is not covered by the warranty...all kinds of problems listed. So I actually got about 2 months of use out of it since it included the winter months of no use! The repair was going to be $159 for a $79 piece of equipment...what a joke.

Calificado 2 de 5 por de The third time is the charm. I hope! I got the first one back in Oct. 2016 it locked up during the first use. I got the second in Oct. 2016 and it lasted for about 5 uses then it would not start. I change the gasoline and the spark plug, but had to take it back. I am now on the third and have gotten the most use out of it so far. I have my figures crossed this one will last as long as my original, which lasted for 8 years and still runs.

Calificado 1 de 5 por de Don't bother I bought this unit to replace my 725r that will start but won't stay running. I used it once. Drained the fuel and took it back to Home Depot. What a poor design. I found that the throttle trigger to be too close to the engine housing which sits a lot high than the old one. It was awkward to use in that my forearm rested on the housing making maneuvering very difficult. Also as it heated up my arm was getting hot from resting against it. The design of the old one was 100 times better so I took it in to get fixed. It will cost me a little more but it will be worth it. I would have bought a different brand but I have a lot of attachments for this one. Don't waste your money on this one. The positive side it started easy and was quieter. Just a poor design!!

Calificado 1 de 5 por de Good for one year only I bought this last year and it worked great. This year I can only get it to start with a lot of starting fluid sprayed into the carburator. Now it won't even start with starting fluid. Don't buy one of these unless you want to buy another one each year. At $79 it is a throw away since service will cost more than that to get it to start again.

Calificado 2 de 5 por de Poor reliability I've had this for less than a year. The shutoff switch stopped working almost immediately forcing me to use the choke to shut off the engine. Now the pull start won't pull at all. It is either badly jammed or there is a serious problem with the engine. I've got to send it out for warranty service to see if it can be fixed.

Calificado 5 de 5 por de Returning Ryobi customer!!! I must say that I bought my first Ryobi trimmer 12 years ago. It was model number BC30 and it was a dream machine but alas and a lack all good things eventually wear out. When I discovered that I could purchase the power head only, I naturally jumped at the opportunity. With a price tag of only $79.00 and the ability to use all of my previously purchased attachments I am extremely happy with this purchase. I just hope this unit lasts half as long as my previous unit did. You can't go wrong with this purchase.

Calificado 4 de 5 por de My third power head This is my third power head. I use it with string trimmer, edger and blower. It does mine and my dad's lawn. Gets lots of use. It has plenty of power to get job done. Just wish it lasted longer. This my third. I've preformed repairs to previous units like replacing fuel lines and tanks repaired pull cords. And so on. Clutch melted on last one. Thirteen year old son was learning use it. I regestered this one for warranty purposes. String trimmer, blower and edger still working great after seven or eight years.

Calificado 5 de 5 por de Great tool I purchased this to cut some brush down on the property we just purchased and I must say it did the job plus. It cut small limbs and trees. I almost went out and rented something but I'm glad I didn't. Plus all the other attachments that go with it make this a good buy.

Calificado 5 de 5 por de Great Machine! I bought my Power Head about 3 weeks ago to replace an earlier model (about 10 years old) I had had good service from. But, you have to remember to use the additive for ethanol gasoline - this is very important whether you are using a Ryobi or anothe rbrand of 2 cycle engine - it really prolongs the life of these 2 cycle engines. My power head started off wih only a few pulle after I gassed it up with ethanol blend gas and the ethanol additive mix. It has not quit running since! A great product.

Calificado 5 de 5 por de starts easily I bought the power head to replace another Ryobi, it lost compression. I use it with my string trimmer, hedge trimmer, tiller, blower and pole saw. Runs great and easy to handle. I'm sure the new one will last long or longer than the old one.

Calificado 4 de 5 por de Sticker-Attack Champion The Ryobi Full Crank Power Head with its blade has allowed me to reclaim part of our yard. We live in the woods, and every year weeds, briers, and small shrubs are growing taller and creeping closer, shrinking our grass area. I have attacked them with lawn mowers, sling blades, hand-held choppers, long-handled choppers, and even tried the heavy chain saw. My new Ryobi has made it all so much easier. I chop stems, roots, and small trunks and then have to separate the plants from their climbing, twisting vines. The Ryobi is easy to prime and crank, too. I'm a little over five feet tall, so the adjustable handle has moved to provide the correct grip. It's not too heavy for this short person, and the adjustable strap provides needed support. This machine needs to last a loooong time!

Calificado 5 de 5 por de Better design Purchased last summer to replace a power head that was several years old. Besides being able to continue to use all my original attachments this new head features a much better design. I like having the gas tank on the bottom and with a flat base the unit is very stable. Piston operates vertical with the spark plug on top. Major improvement compared to being on the bottom setting in any residual, un burned oil. Unit just started right up after setting all winter. I recommend this power head.

Calificado 4 de 5 por de Handle is a Bust My 1999 Ryobi 725r wouldn't start this spring. Troubleshooting led me to think it would be less expensive to buy this new power head. Old attachments still work! Yea! Ten minutes into driveway edging my back was hurting. The length and balance to the new head is different and doesn't work with my 6' 1" body. The biggest issue is with the wrap around short handle. Transferring the much taller handle from the 725r meant I didn't have to lean over as far. The weight was a bit better balanced.

Calificado 5 de 5 por de reliable, durable, cost effecive this is my 3rd set of ryobi expand-it set. I do a major amount of hedge trimming, bush shaping, and wood cutting. I am not a commercial type user, but I do an better than average amount of trimming on a seasonal basis. I have found these tools to be reliable and durable. I consider the power source to be a throw away item. I can usually get 4-5 years on the engine. I do not repair them except for cleaning spark plug, or replacing a gas line and filter. It really suits my needs.

Calificado 4 de 5 por de Perfect for application I bought the Ryobi 2 cycle powerhead as my primary unit to run my attachments such as hedgetrimmer, edger, pole saw, etc for my landscaping service. The unit is perfect for this application especially the hedge trimmer which was my main reason for purchase, runs and cuts well even powers through some good size branches/limbs. It has a perfect price point for theses applications as well. I run many Ryobi battery products and have always been satisfied with production and durability.

Calificado 5 de 5 por de great machine I had a 30cc and it went completely dead and I bought a 28cc.I thought I would loose some of the power but it's just as good or maybe even better.Love it

Calificado 5 de 5 por de Excellent right out of the box My old (8+ years) Ryobi half crank owed me nothing, and that's what it was giving me. Given the long life and my collection of expand-it tools, off to get this power head. Stopped on the way home to buy and mix a gallon of as with the provided oil. Assemble, fill it and running in 3 pulls! Slash through the trimming and put on the blower. Awesome performance with both accessories. Got some brush that is going to be short-lived. It was fun again to finish the mowing.

Calificado 1 de 5 por de Necessary evil I bought this to replace an older power head that burned up while I was using the hedge trimmer attachment. It was going to take Ryobi's local warranty repair shop at least 2 weeks to evaluate the old one and I did not have that much time to wait, so I had to buy this one. I started trimming more hedges with the new power head and then the hedge trimmer attachment failed and now I can't trim any more hedges. Ryobi's instructions are to take the trimmer attachment to their local warranty repair shop for evalulation, but you see the trouble with that earlier in this review. The bottom line is I have found over the past 3-5 years of trying to use Ryobi equipment that it is not made for any kind of real work, only for weekend grass trimming, and it better not be very strenuous because Ryobis are not built to last.

Calificado 5 de 5 por de STRONG AND RELIEABLE I wanted another four stroke machine as I already have three of them however all three are being repaired by Home Depot had a leaf blower attachment and had a job to finish Home Depot did not have any four strokes left in desperation I bought the two stroke machine. Right from the start this machine started so much easier ran strong and not as hard on gas was able to get my leaf job finished in a day with the attachment blower I had for the four stroke heads.

Calificado 5 de 5 por de Lightweight and yet powerful! I used my neighbors Ryobi weed Wacker when my 3 year old Murray wouldn't start again, and was very surprised how easy his was to start and how easy the attachment changes were. So needing a new weed wacker I went to Home Depot's website and bought one. I live in Florida and in the summer time, if you go any longer then 7 days without cutting your grass, you're screwed... Also my HOA will breath down my neck with a quickness. Great product and a good price too!

Calificado 5 de 5 por de Great lightweight straight shaft trimmer. I bought this about a month ago. So far so good. Trimmer is lightweight, starts easy, and ample power for its size. Hopefully I am able to get another 5 years use out of his trimmer like my previous. Since my previous trimmer had a universal attachment it made sense to purchase a stand alone gas head with a universal adapter and reuse my attachments from my previous trimmer. Ryobi was the only manufacturer offering a universal gas head at an affordable price!

Calificado 4 de 5 por de Fairly Dependable Tool I am on my third power head in 10 years. I just bought this one, so I'm averaging 5 years of life on them. My edger attachment is about 8 years old and I still use the 10 year old string trimmer attachment. The power heads are inexpensive and I did very little maintenance on them. They have tune up kits that need to used now and then, mostly for the fuel lines. I think I used one on each of the two heads I've owned. For the money, it's a good tool.

Calificado 4 de 5 por de Perfect for DYI lawn care 2nd one of these I've owned over the years. Well built with good features and compatibility with various attachments. Easy start, low maintenance. Only reason for not being 5 star rating is that the machine is set out of the box to run real lean. That in turn will translate to premature wear on the piston and rings eventually leading to failure. Im not a mechanic so I'll have to pay someone to adjust it. Otherwise never had any issues

Calificado 5 de 5 por de Great yard tool! I've had a Ryobi weed trimmer for several years. I bought the edger attachment to go along with it. It held up for a long time but finally died last month. I looked at other brands but found myself wanting another Ryobi. I liked that I could by the power head separately since I already had my existing attachments. The new one runs great. I don't remember the old unit ever sounding this good. I'm so glad that I made this purchase!!

Calificado 5 de 5 por de Couldn't Ask for a Better Solution MY original Ryobi BC30 carburetor and clutch were badly in need of replacement and the cost was more than I expected so I decided to bite the bullet and buy a new brushcutter. THEN, when I went to the store that I bought it from I saw that Ryobi offered a powerhead. VOILA ! It was way less expensive than the needed repairs and I can still use all of my attachments! No Brainer. I'm off an running with just one pull of the cord.

Calificado 4 de 5 por de Seems better built than the one being replaced My original Ryobi string trimmer lasted about 7 years. Replaced it with a new Ryobi 2 cycle string trimmer, not realizing I could just buy the power head. The new one seemed to be a lot cheaper made. Lighter and less power. It lasted two years. This power head seems to be closer to the original. It has a bit more heft to it and it appears the quality is better. Started right up and seems good for the price.. Time will tell...

Calificado 4 de 5 por de It does the job! I had a RYOBI line trimmer with electric start and I had given up on it. With the battery and the starter it was very heavy. Then I got an ad from Home Depot for this RYOBI powerhead at a good price. Since I had two attachments I decided to go for it and glad I did. It is easy to start, has plenty of power, plus it is so much lighter than the old one. Weight is very important to me as I have had multiple shoulder surgeries

Calificado 4 de 5 por de Powerful Base! This is my third Ryobi string trimmer (2nd Expand-It) in 20 years. I have had great experiences using the head for trimming and pruning trees on my property. It is very powerful and does what I need it to do. I would recommend it for beginners and professionals. It cranked on the third pull straight out of the box! I would recommend using the pre-mixed oil and gas because regular gas/oul mix seems to mess up the carburetor.
